The new gearbox and hose coupling took a while
to develop. I tried many other couplers first but none worked.

The electric motor is a 17 turn motor with a 2.5 : 1 reduction
turning the rotors at ~8000 RPMs
 

Here is a shot of the 4 x 100 amp speed controllers. The current
draw on each rotor is 15-20 amps and 30 amps loaded with pitch.
 
 

That hollow turbine is the Pegasus can from the Isoburst many
years ago. I hammered the large dents out and put it to good use.
The plane is ~100 inches long with ~80 inch wingspan.
 
 
 

During the first round of test flights the Rig would not lift off
the ground and would not fit in the back of my truck. I welded
this launch pad from some scrap at work.
